    Society One, of Berks County
held its regular meeting on June 10
in Amityville, at the home of Mrs.
Warren Haas, Sr., with 21 mem
bers present.
The speaker for the evening was
Mrs. Faye Strickler from the
Berks County Home Economics
Extension Service discussing
canning techniques and
precautions necessary in handling
foods.
Along with other Farm Women
groups in the area, will
have a stand at the Boyertown
Berks Co. Society 9
A Berks Society 9 meeting was
held in the home of Karen Schreier
with 10 members present. Each
member brought a nutritional dish
and explained the nutritional
value.
The family picmc will be at

Sidewalks Sale on June 23.
A check for $25 was presented to
Duane Howard, son-of Mr. and
Mrs. Leroy Howard, Oley, R 2, as a
graduation gift.
Plans were made for a food
stand at the Jean Ankney sale on
Old Airport Road, Earlville, on
June 20.
The next meeting of Society 1
will be a doggie roast, July 8 at 7:30
p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Howard Hetrick. This will include
all family members.

part of the meal.
The July 1 program will be a tour
of Memtts Doll Museum, and
afterwards will be a meeting at the
home of Grace Spohn at 8 p.m.

The June meeting of Society 12 of
Bemville was held at the BernviUe
home of Mary LeymeiSter.
Ken Moyer, a State Farm In
surance agent was the guest
speaker. He showed a film on fire
safety and a film on drinking and
driving.
Anna Reinhart of Bemville was

Lancaster Farm Women 6 met in family banquet. The county

home of Wayne and Yvonne Miller
recently.

are planning to go to Kempton
June 20, to ride the W.K. & S. Team
Railroad.
The next meeting will be the
family picnic at Crystal Cave.
Each woman will bring a covered
dish. The tune and date is July 18,

The program for the evening
included members bringing a baby
picture of themselves to guess who
is who.
Also held was a fresh baked food
and fresh vegetable auction.
The next meeting will be August
1 at 6 p.m.

plant sale.
The next meeting wal be a
brunch at the home of Mrs. Everett
Kreider on July 2.

a walking tour of* Lancaster and
also visit the Heritage House.
Herr’s Potato Chip Plant m Not
tingham, with husbands as guests.
After touring the plant, Mr. Jim
Herr, president of Herr’s Potato
Chips gave a presentation of the
beginnings of Herr’s Potato Chips
to the present day.
The next meeting will be held at
the Garden Spot Lanes in
Strasburg with bowling for the
program. The Roll Call will be in
answerto, “What do you do to keep
fit?”
