A Continued strong performance
by the carcass and boxed beef
trade, combined with moderate
salable numbers to move Steers
and Heifers higher through mid
week. Best demand centered on
the decreasing supply of Choice 2-4
1150 lbs. and up Steers, with these
kinds reaching their highest levels
since September 1980. Heifers
grading Choice 2-4 weighing 950
lbs. and up also found a ready
outlet as overall finish was below
average and live weights con
tinued on the decline. Steers made
up 53 pet of week’s receipts,
Heifers 28 pet.. Cows 9 pet., and
Feeders 6 pet.
