basis of their knowledge ot the
business enterprise ‘system in
America, the cooperative way of
doing business, and on activities of
the participants identifying them
with school, community, church,
and youth organizations.
These young leaders will be
accompanied to Shippensburg by
Denise M. Bertrand, Appraisal
Analyst with the Southeast Farm
Credit Service. Bertrand will act
as chaperone and resource person
for the delegation.
The Institute program is
designed to teach youth more
about the business enterprise
system in the Umted States, to help
m planning their future by pointing
out career possibilities in
agribusiness, and providing op
portunities for individual
leadership development.
Approximately 150 young adults,
representing the best of over 4,000
participants in the annual P. A.F.C.
youth education program, will
attend the four-day conference.
Climax of the Institute will be the
selection of delegates to attend the
American Institute of
Cooperation’s annual youth con
ference at Colorado State
University, July 27-30.
There they will join with 500
other future leaders from the
United States, Canada, and Puerto
Rico to take part in activities at the
national meeting.
The Shippensburg Institute is a
joint effort of the Pennsylvania
Association of Farmer
Cooperatives, local cooperative
councils, and the College of
