first-time event is sponsored by the
Chester County Parks and
Recreation Department and the
Cooperative Extension Service and
will reflect the area’s agricultural

The days features include an

Antique Association, and
homespun crafts by area han
dicrafters.
Horsemanship demonstrations
will be conducted by the Valley
Ridge Saddle Club throughout the

Four-H activities will occur
throughout the day. Beginning at
11 a.m. in the large nng, the
Chester County 4-H Dairy
Showmanship and Fitting Contest
will be held.
At 1:30 p.m., the Chester County
4-H Baby Beef Club will conduct
three informative demonstrations.
The first demonstration will show
consumers where the various cuts
of meat come from, diagrammed
on a live steer, and the following
two demonstrations will exhibit the
fitting and showmanship methods
for beef steers. At 3:00 PM, the 4-H

Sheep Club members will compete
~ in the County Blocking Contest, a
contest to see who can do the best
job of cleaning and trimming a
sheep, in one hour’s time. Winners
of this event will compete at the
1982 Pennsylvania Farm Show in
Harrisburg.
Dog Obedience training
demonstrations will be held
throughout the day by the Heel &
Sit 4-H Dog Club, along with a
petting zoo by the Dog Club, and
Pony Rides by the Trailmasters 4-
H Club until 5:00 p.m. The Golden
Fleece 4-H Sheep Club will do
Sheep Fitting Demonstrations
throughout the day.
Information exhibits will be
sponsored by the Chester County

and Cooperative Agriculture
Extension Service, Pennsylvania
Department of Agriculture,
Chester County Equine Council,
and Herrs Potato Chips among
others. Special appearances by
“Eggatha” and “Toto Tomato”
cartoon characters are also
