State hosts solid waste seminar
HARRISBURG - “Future
Directions for Solid Waste
Management in Pennsylvania” is
the theme of a three-day seminar
in Pomeroy’s Community Room,
Wyoming Valley Mall, Wilkes-
Barre, on Wednesday, June 17.
The seminar, designed for
municipal officials and planners
from throughout the state, is being
consponsored by the Pennsylvania
Department of Environmental
Resources and the Governmental
Refuse Collection and Disposal
Association, a national
organization for solid waste
management professionals.
Officials and planners.interested
in participating in the 8:30 a.m. to 5
p.m. sessions must register with
GRCDA Pa. Seminar, Box 6126,
Silver Spring, Md. 20906, by
Wednesday, June 10.
Members of the seminar faculty
are Lanny Hickman, executive
director of GRCDA and former
director of operations for the U.S.
Environmental Protection
