Daily farmer Mervin Weaver, Lititz, takes
his milking herd across heavily traveled Route
501 four times a day. To help him get his herd
safely across the busy highway, Weaver turns
on an electric cattle crossing sign, equipped
with flashers.

Once the cattle are safely across, Weaver
heads to turn off the crossing sign as the cows
make their way to the barn. The dairy farmer
admits he's had some close calls already with
