District Game
Protector Richard W.
Anderson was named
the wildlife con
servation officer of the
year by Shikar Safari
Club International, and
Juniata County District
Game Protector Barry
L. Warner was the
recipient of the top
officer award presented
annually by the Nor
theast Conservation
Law Enforcement
Chiefs Association.
Anderson received his
award at the convention
of the Pennsylvania
Federation of Sport
smen’s Clubs at
Carlisle, and Warner
recieved his honors at
the Northeast Fish and
Wildlife Conference at
Virginia Beach,
Virginia.
Anderson has been
with the Pennsylvania
Gaipe Commission
since his enrollment as
a student officer at the
Ross Leffler School of
Conservation (the
agency’s training
school) in 1959. He was
assigned to the district
game protector’s
position in Northampton
County in 1960, and has
been there since that
time.
Warner enrolled at
the Game Commission’s
training school in 1972,

Pennsylvania Crop’
Reporting Service.

each, York Imperial
apples comprise the
largest variety in cold
storage at 691,000
bushels.
Rome apples follow at
442.000 bushels, with
holdings of Red
Delicious applies at
302.000 bushels, and
Gold Delicious applies
at 264,000 bushels.
