and Bulls comprised 6% of the total
supplies.

midweek Slaughter Steers and
Heifers 2.00-2.50 higher. Cows 1.50-
2.00 lower. Bulls 1.00 lower.
Four Day Receipts 14214, Last
Week 14,066 a Year Ago 13,436.
Fueled by a broadly higher beef
trade and a brisk buyer demand.
Steer and Heifer prices climbed to
their highest levels in the last eight
months; however, buyers turned
somewhat cautious at midweek as
a weak tone prevailed in the
carcass market. While the per
centage of offerings displaying
yield grade 48 tendencies was on
the decline, best interest still
centered on cattle producing yield
grade 2-3 carcasses. This was the
sixth consecutive week of higher
weekly market trends; a period in
which the top price of Steers on the
Omaha Market rose from 63.00 in
the first week of April to 70.15
during the current session.
Steers made up 43 pet of five day
receipts, neiters 31 pet., cows 7
pet., feeders 17 pet.
