AlB—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, April 18,1981 Penns Valley FFA holds 25th annual banquet SPRING MILLS - The Penns Valley Future Farmers of America held its 25th Annual Banquet recently in the Penns Valley High School Cafeteria. A total of 260 members, parents and guests attended the banquet which featured a turkey dinner served by the Penns Valley Band Boosters. President Roger Poorman opened the meeting with Vice President Mike Billiard giving the welcome and Jim Zubler, Chaplain, the invocation President Poorman recognized the Past Honorary and Keystone members. Two new Honorary members Dr. Duane Tobias, local veterinarian, and Dennis Milhoun, a former Ag teacher, were presented plaques Keith Flanders, State Regional Vice President, presented a speech on the FFA goals. Seventeen members received Greenhand Degrees The Greenhand recipients were Daryl Aukerman, Tun Auman, Scott Backman, Tun Brungart, Terry Corl, Lee Ann Coup, Chris Homan, Craig Homan, Mike Homan, Robert Kenne, Mike Miller, Bryan Packer, Michael Rowles, John Shook, Merle Wertz, Ronnie Wingard, and Jay Vonada. Craig Homan and John Shook were honored with the title of Star Greenhand. Chapter Farmer Degrees went to Don Alters, Faith Brown, Cory Guisewhite, Brian Hoover, Kemut Long, Sam Stitzer and Doug Wasson, while the 1981 Keystone Degree winners were presented pins and checks of $25 each. The winners of this degree were Faye Brown, Todd Ishler, Kevin Kellerman, Roger Poorman and Wade Wolfe Parliamentary Procedure pins were given to Faye Brown, Donna Johnson, Steve Jones, Nathan Kauffman, Kevin Kellerman, Richard Krout, Jeff Ohara, Bill Richards, Wade Wolfe, and Paul Young. Receiving the Jr Leadership Award was Mike Billiard. Roger Poorman received the Sr Leadership Award, which was sponsored by the Centre Hall Farm Store. Lloyd Shawver and Richard Krout were chosen for the Jr and Sr Scholarship Awards. Receiving the Star Chapter Farmer Award was Wade Wolfe, who also received the Production Credit Award. Faye Brown was presented the Agriculture Achievement Award given by John Decker. The Communication Award sponsored by Paul Zimmerman in memory of Mrs Sara Zimmerman was presented to Donna Johnson Receiving Stale Project Book pins were Richard Krout, gold, Home Garden; Blair Wertz, gold, Home Improvement; Wade Wolfe, gold, Seven Enterprizes; Mike Billiard, silver, Dairy Heifers; Janie Corl, bronze, Dairy Calves; Todd Ishler, bronze, Dairy Herd, Steve Wolfe, bronze, Three En terprises.
