Thursday, April 9 '
Report supplied by USDA
Through midweek steers 25-50
higher. Heifers firm to 50 higher.
Cows 50 higher. Bulls steady.
Four day receipts 14,050; last
week 13,900; year ago 10,050.

carcass beef prices was only
partially reflected in live cattle
trends, as the bulk of week’s
trading was already completed.
Purchases of cattle suitable for
C.M.E. delivery also helped
stimulate the trade. Steers and
heifers producing yield grade 2-3
carcasses still enjoyed the best
demand, but all classes were
represented in the weeks upturn.
Steers made up 49 pet of 5 day
receipts, heifers 27 pet, cows 8 pet.,
feeders 13 pet.
