Names genetic recovery head

Giacommi, 25, Modesto, Calif,
joined the headquarters staff of
The American Jersey Cattle Club,
effective April 1, 1981. Giacommi
will head up two major programs
of the AJCC, Genetic Recovery and
Jersey Marketing Service.
The Genetic Recovery Program
was instituted in 1975 to identify
and record superior unregistered
purebred Jerseys and bring their
offspring by registered Jersey
bulls into the AJCC Herd Register.
Over 35,000 Jerseys have been
recorded in its six year history.
Giacommi will coordinate the
efforts of the 60 commissioned
agents nationwide who do Genetic
Recovery work.
He will also coordinate the ac
tivities of Jersey Marketing
Service, an AJCC subsidiary that

associations. A 1979 graduate of
the University of Wisconsin, he is a
' native of Humboldt County, Calif.
Giacommi’s father, Donald, is a
nationally prominent Guernsey
breeder and his uncle, John, is a
member of The American Jersey
Cattle Club Board of Directors.
In 1975, Giacommi was elected
National Vic-President of Future
Farmers of America. He was the
1974 American Guernsey Cattle
Club Youth Award Winner.
Pete and his wife, Libby, will
relocate in Columbus. They are
expecting their first child m June.
