Octorara FFA holds banquet; wins speaking contests
ATGLEN The Octorara FFA
Chapter recently participated in
two important annual events,
including its annual parent
member awards banquet and
competition in the Chester County
parliamentary procedure and
pubhc speaking contests

York 4-H runs petting zoo
YORK Once again, the York
County 4-H Petting Zoo captured
the hearts of all ages as visitors
lined up to pet the animals at the
annual York County 4-H Expo held
this year at the Delco Plaza Mall,
York.
The petting zoo featured baby
goats, puppies, rabbits, pigs and a
calf.
An exhibit contest was held with

Hall and the speaking contests, in
which Octorara won the
parliamentary procedure com
petition among other top awards,
were conducted on March 30
Judy Zimmerman, of Ephrata,
4-H exhibits representing 17 clubs
on display. Winning honors were
the Airville, Jefferson and
Thomasville 4-H clubs.
Climaxing the weekend event
was a fashion' show on Saturday
evening featuring garments made
by the county 4-H’ers.
This 4-H promotional event is an
excellent tool to inform the public
of the many “facets” of 4-H.

Honored as the most active
member was Bill MacCauley,
along with Geoftrey Staufter tor
top salesmanship.
