Kemp is the fourth generation of
his family which has operated
Bountiful Ridge Nurseries, a
highly diversified nurserv which
State in 1950 and began his career
as the Assistant County
Agricultural Extension Agent in
Lackawanna and Wyoming
Counties. He was named Dairy
Extension Specialist at Penn State
in 1952, working with the 4*H junior
dairy program. Mann was
responsible for establishing the
first Pennsylvania Junior Dairy
Show which is now an annual event
at the Farm Show Complex.
Mann served as Director of the
Pennsylvania Farm Show from
1963 until 1972 Durmg that period,
he directed a total of nine Farm
Shows and hundreds of other
events at the Harrisburg site

represents the nursery industry as
a member of the Northeastern
From 1973 until 1980, Mann
served as Farm Manager for the
Masomc Homes in Elizabethtown.
In February, 1980 he was named
Chief of Marketing Services and
Acting Chief of the Division of
Poultry and Eggs, Fruits and
Vegetables. Last December Mann
took over as Acting Director of the
Farm Show, as well.
Mann is presently Worshipful
Master of the Robert Bums Lodge
No. 464, and is a member of the
Trinity Lutheran Church of Camp
Hill. He is married to the former
Prudence Putnam of
Massachusetts The Mann’s have
four children.
