MARTINSBURG, WV - The 1981 National Peach Council Achievement Award was presented to Norman F Childers of Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Outgoing NPC President Douglas Zee presented the Award at the Western Theme Party during the NPC Convention in Phoenix, Arizona Childers has been an outstanding contributor to the advancement of the peach industry and of National Peach Council. He served as Assistant Director of the USDA Experiment Station in Puerto Rico, then tnoved on to Rutgers University and has been there since 1948.
