Penn State gets new
extension agronomist
UNIVERSITY PARK - Douglas
B. Beegle has been named to Penn
State’s College of Agriculture
faculty as an extension
agronomist, effective March 1
Thomas B. King, Penn State
associate dean for extension,
points out that he is responsible for
soil fertility programs, primarily
those duties previously earned out
by Wayne Himsh who served as
extension agronomist prior to his
appointment as assistant dean in
the College of Agriculture
A native of Roaring Springs,
Beegle received a bachelor of arts
degree in chemistry from
Lycoming College in 1974. He
earned a master of science degree
in soil chemistry and is completing
requirements for. a doctor of
philosophy degree, both at Penn
State.
Prior to his appointment to the
extension staff he was a research
and graduate assistant m the Penn
State Department of Agronomy
and was a dairy farmer for three
years.
Beegle is a member of the
