AlB—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, March 21,1981 New meaning given to FFA at Elco banquet MYERSTOWN - A national officer of the Future Farmers of America gave new and special meaning to FFA at the 19th annual banquet and awards program of the Eastern Lebanon County Chapter on Wednesday, March 18, in the middle school. The new and special meaning was imparted to the large audience of members, parents and sup porters by Susie Barrett, National FFA Vice President for the Eastern Region, of Vincent, Oh. “FFA has changed to meet the changing needs of farming,” the national officer said. “One of the new meanings for FFA could be Future Followers of Agriculture since there are so many people now in agribusiness who help the farmer.” Barrett went on to say that FFA also could stand for Foundation for Achievement. She explained that a basic role in this regard for FFA is the building of leaders today for tomorrow.
