ROBESONIA Members of the
Conrad Weiser FFA Chapter
gathered March 11th for their
annual banquet at the High School
During the evening members
were presented with awards for
their outstanding achievements
and given advice by State FFA
officers
State FFA president Larry
Shrawder told his fellow members
that to be successful in the FFA
they must set standards, look for
help, and have the right attitude
Set intermediate and long range
goals now, he advised, this will
help to keep you on a straight path
to success, otherwise you may be

Debbie Miller, a graduate of
Conrad Weiser and Penn State
College FFA member addressed
the banquet also. Debbie em
phasized the importance of at
titudes “What you think of
yourself is what you will be,” she
stated Nothing is impossible, she
continued, “if you want to do
something bad enough you can get
it done, it just takes the right at
titude ”
Miller related an incident in
which her attitude needed to be
changed to accomplish a task she
wanted to do. Learning from the
experience, Miller tried to teach
grain under good man

appreciation and special awards to
several people and other school
departments for their assistance
during the past year. Among the
recipients were the home
economics department and
business department
Distinguished service awards and
desk plaques were given to the
secretaries of the school
Honorary degrees were
bestowed upon Albert Bos,
manager of Dutchmill Bulbs;
George Landis, county editor of the
Reading Eagle, Mr and Mrs.
Henry Noss, parents of the chapter
President and host of the chapter
Tractor driving contest, Owen
Stoudt, freelance photographer for
the Reading Eagle, and Roger
Heller, member of the Ag Advisory
Board It was also noted that
Landis and Heller were also
distinguished with Honorary
Keystone Farmer Degrees
Receiving the coveted Star
Greenhand and Chapter Farmer
awards were Troy Cox, R 1
Robesonia and Tim Deamer,
Womelsdorf, respectively The
outstanding senior receiving the
Dekalb Award was chapter
president, Henry Noss, Sinking
Spring Deamer also received the
Leadership Award, was second in
Citrus Sales, and received a
Foundation award for placement
in Agriculture
Noss received awards for State
Project Book Contest, and Chapter
Tractor Driving Contest,
