Congressmen introduce bill to assure fuel for farmers WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Berkley Bedell (D -lowa) and Tom Tauke (R-Iowa) have introduced legislation designed to provide American agriculture with priority allocations of fuel m the event of a severe energy shortage The Bedell-Tauke bill would require the President to establish an “agriculture allocation con tingency plan ” The plan would ensure that all phases of agricultural production, including food processing and tran sportation, would be given priority allocations of diesel fuel and gasoline.
