mostly 1.00 higher. Demand and
trading moderate early but af
ternoon trading slow with a wait
and see attitude prevailing.
Packers are holding firm on
moderate supplies, while
processors continue to be burdened
by sluggish boxed beef movement.
The boxed beef carcass cutout
value declined $.56 to $99.00 per
cwt. Sales reported on 102 loads of
steer and heifer beef.

steers closed 1.50 to 2.00, instances
2.50 lower. Heifers 1.50 lower.
Cows 2.00 to 4.00 lower. Bulls 1.00 to
2.00 lower. Trade opened the week
slow with slaughter steers and
heifers under pressure due to a
sluggish downward skidding
carcass and box beef trade. Short
receipts at midweek provided no
support and further declines were
noted. Buyers were never
aggressive and clearance was
incomplete from day to day.
Receipts this week 2300, compared
to 2698 a week ago and 2818 a year
ago.
