Joins consultant group Agrifuels operates Expo still
CAMP HILL - Richard E.
Denison of Shiremanstown, has
been accepted as a member of the
American Society of Agricultural
Consultants. Denison is the
manager of Farm Management
and Business Analysis Service,
and the Legal Service Plan of the
Pennsylvania Farmers’
Association.
ASAC is an organization
designed to raise the standards
and image of professional
agricultural consultants, and to
discourage the use of the terra
“consultant” by anyone other than
those who are fully qualified and
actively engaged in a consultant’s
role.
Denison manages the Farm
Mangement Service, providing a
full-scale farm management, farm
accounting, farm business
analysis, farm tax planning and
farm tax preparation to more than
4,000 Pennsylvania farmers.
The Legal Service Plan is
designed to provide specialized
legal service for farmers and their
businesses.
Denison is the recipient of the
Silver Beaver from the Boy Scouts
of America for Distinguished
Service to youth. He is also a
member of the American Society
of Farm Managers and Rural
Appraisers

HARRISBURG - Agnfuels
Equipment Co., of East Greenville,
demonstrated the “Ideal 500” still
in the parking lot at the
Agriculture Equipment Ex
position.
The black and orange still was
trailer-mounted and stood some 18
feet tall in the 38-degree tem
perature with a 10 mile an hour
wind blowing across its twin
columns.
Bill Weaver and his Agnfuels
crew were successful in demon
strating the stability and
reliability of the unit, which was
reported to produce 190-proof
alcohol at a measured flow rate of
12 gallons per hour.
The “Ideal 500” system, ac
. cording to Weaver, is a farm-size

Agrifuels Equipment Co
operates a “500” system on a
regular basis at Weaver’s Black
Arrow Farm in Berks County and
Weaver stated that the system has
always been very stable and
produces a high grade product
“This demonstration”. Weaver
said, “proves that a fellow would
have to work very hard to make
low grade alcohol. The system just
likes to run high proof ”
A second point of interest on the
Agrifuels display was the three
horsepower Briggs and Stratton
motor running on 180-proof alcohol
to power a water pump for the stilL
This engine was the first to be
converted by Agrifuels’ research.
Currently the company has a
tractor operating on alcohol, and is
continuing research with fuel
injectors and straight conversions
for diesel and gas engines.
