Lebanon Livestock 4-H’ers earn trophies
SCHAFFERSTOWN - Tuesday
evening marked the final step in
the 1980 show year for members of
the Lebanon County 4-H Livestock
Club During their annual awards
banquet, members finally became
the proud owners of trophies they
had earned as far back as August.
In the beef club, two grand
champion steer trophies were
awarded, both to young women of
the club Terne Schaeffer received
the award for the top Lebanon Fair
steer, while Kelly Heisey took
home the trophy for the best
Roundup steer and steer showman
Even the buyer of the grand
champion steer at Roundup was
awarded a trophy This year, as in
the past several years, the trophy
went to Lebanon Valley National
Bank.

Grumbme clutched his first grand
championship trophy for
exhibiting the grand champion hog
during competition at the Lebanon
Fair last August The youth was
also selected champion fitter at the
Fair for which he received another
trophy on Tuesday evening
Tom Arnold was awarded the
trophy for exhibiting the grand
champion hog at Roundup last
December, along with a trophy for
being selected champion showman
at Roundup, too

the Bow sisters when leader Henry
Emrich began calling out the
trophy recipients, names Melanie
had an armful of trophies for
champion ewe, champion
showman, champion fitter, and
reserve champion market lamb
Sister Julie didn’t go back empty
handed she carried with her
trophies for her champion ram,
champion market lamb, and
champion pen of market lairbs
Julie also was recognized as
finishing third in the state 4-H
sheep shearing competition last
year.
Lebanon Plaza Merchants'
Association accepted the trophy
for buying the champion market
lamb. And Nicole Emrich received
a trophy for her reserve champion
pen of market lambs
Other beef and hog awards went
to Rodney Bomgardner, reserve
champion Fair steer, Farm Show
steer and champion steer fitter at
Roundup, Brett Eberly, champion
steer showman, Dorene Eberly,
champion steer fitter, Bryan
Eberly, champion buddy steer and
Farm Show steer. Judi Early,
