Glenn Ellenberger who recently
retired
A native of Pine Grove,
Schuylkill County, she has been a
member of the Lehigh County
Extension staff since 1956 Prior to
that she served two years as
assistant Franklin County home
economist
She received a bachelor of
science degree from Mansfield
State College, majoring in home
economics education
Miss Hembach has become the
local authority on food preser
vation and home canning
techniques In addition, she
developed programs in health and
nutrition, home financial
management, family relations,
and worked closely with the 4-H
program

Lehigh County gets new extension
She has supervised the Ex
panded Foods and Nutrition
Education Program m Lehigh
County since 1969 In this program,
sponsored by the U S Department
of Agriculture, Miss Hembach
directs the work of four nutrition
aides who assist families with
limited incomes to make the best
use of their resources to serve
nutritious meals
She served on numerous ad
visory boards and planning
committees and is well-known for
her educational assistance to
county agencies and organizations
Miss Hembach has been active m
both the Pennsylvania and
National Associations of Extension
Home Economists, serving on
various committees She is past
president of the Pennsylvania
