AF Shannon Margie 924, the
grand champion female, was sired
by Duke of Swisher out of an Irish
bred Shorthorn dam. She was
shown by Alden Farms, George
Alden & Sons, Hamilton, Mo.
The reserve grand champion
bull was Green Ridge Prince Rl9,
sired by HHKA Buttercup’s Pnnce
20th and exhibited by Jerry Taylor
Family Shorthorns, Praine City,
Dl., and Calvin Hiatt, Jr., & Sons,
Cicero, In. Certainly no stranger to
the winner’s circle, this two-year
old bull has been reserve grand
champion at nine major shows. He
weighed in at Denver at 2230
pounds.
Sangamon F Caroline P x, sired
by GX Spiro’s Plumber 528 x, and
exhibited by T.H. Snethen,
Dewittville, N.Y., was the reserve
grand champion female. This
summer yearling female is out of
the Caroline cow family which has
been very successful in the
Snethen breeding program.

was moved to the reserve grand
champion spot.
Champion Shorthorn steer was
exhibited by Dave Carlson of
Edwards, D., and the reserve
champion steer of the breed was
shown by Terry Eads, Lagro, In.
