Senate names chairmen for ag subcommittees
WASHINGTON, DC. - Senator
Jesse Helms, Chairman of the
Senate Committee on Agriculture,
Nutrition, and Forestry, last week
announced the selection of Sub
committee Chairmen
At the same tune, Chairman
Helms said the Committee has
agreed to a slight reorganization of
the Subcommittees.
The number of Subcommittees
has been increased from seven to
eight.
Two new Subcommittees have
been created from the former
Subcommittee on Environment,
Soil Conservation, and Forestry
They are: Subcommittee on Soil
and Water Conservation, with
Senator Roger W. Jepsen of lowa
as Chairman; and Subcommittee
on Forestry, Water Resources, and
Environment, with Senator SI.
(Sam) Hayakawa of California as
Chairman.
