Society 29 Lancaster Farm women 29 met at the home of Doris Shenk on January 19 Dons Shenk introduced the speaker for the evening. Officer Cindy Mackison who is employed by the Marietta Police Department Officer Mackison in formed us on the duties of a borough police officer As one of the eight officers in Marietta she explained procedures that should be taken when an individual sees an act of crime She showed members each item she carries and talked about their uses President Gema Ziegler called the meeting to order Roll call was taken with 13 members present Committees were then called upon b> President Ziegler Our next meeting will be held on February 16 at the home of Carolyn Newcomer id Guard at 7 30. Berks Co, Society 1 Farm Women 1 met January 14 at the home of Mrs Norman Badrow, Weavertown, with 17 members in attendance Lillian Hetrick had at tended the State Convention of the Society of Farm Women, held in Harrisburg in conjunction with the Farm Show, and gave a report of that activity. The Group is sponsoring a bus trip to the Three Little Bakers Dinner Theatre on February 20. The evening program consisted of each member’s discussion of a “Grand mother’s Remedy” that had been handed down in the family. There were repeated mention of turpentine, goose grease, garlic, whiskey and herbs in various formulas. The next meeting of Group I will be at 1 p m , February II at the Oley Legion Dmer, Oley, Pa Berks Co. Society 6 Russell Haas of Oley, representing the National Bank of Boyertown, spoke to Farm Women 6 in the residence of Mrs Paul Youse, on all aspects of banking, recently The Sunshine Committee reported a planter was sent to Mrs Merrill Hetrick who w as recently in the hospital.
