year’s state Young Farmer
Spokespersons for
Agriculture.
Joyce Hershey of
Cochranville, represented
Pennsylvania in the National
Young Farmer
Spokesperson for
Agriculture Contest during
the National Young Farmer
Educational Institute in
Omaha, Nebraska, in
December.
In her speech on how to
stretch the food dollar,
Hershey said, “If we want to
save money on our food bill,
we need to analyze our
buying habits; habits
brought about by massive
advertising and television.
Many of the things I have
found can benefit all of
today’s homemakers in
terested in good nutrition for
their families at a
reasonable price. To get the
most from our food dollar we
need to. (1) plan ahead, (2)
buy wisely, and (3) prepare
carefully.”
