During the summer of 1980
23 acres of peppers were
grown m the New Holland
area and marketed through
the Farmers-Consumers
Association to the Benjamin
Lipitz Co. of Philadelphia as
a pilot project to introduce
additional cash crops to the
Lancaster area
Ben Lipitz, owner of the
Lapitz Co. and George Perry,
director of the Farmer-
Consumer Association will
be presenting the expanded
needs for peppers to include
new varieties with increased
acreage and would also like
to include tomatoes this
season
The meeting mil be held
on Thursday afternoon at
1:30 p.m in the Union Grove
School which is located two
miles north of Route 23 on
route 625 between Blue Ball
and Bowmansville
