NAMMR filed as Amicus Cunae, or friend of the court, under provisions of the antitrust laws which allows such filing as the Court is making a deter mination whether the con sent judgment would be in the public interest. NAMMR’s opposition is based on a lack of protection for the independent dairy farmers, and the dairy processors in the New England Area, and it made several recommended changes in the form of the judgment to strengthen it.
