junior heifer, Woodside
Queen Gloster, was tagged
grand champion, while bam
buddy, Woodside Synthia
Rose 4th was named reserve
grand champion.
Eisimmger’s bull calf,
Woodside Champagne 9th,
was named grand champion
bull of the Shorthorn Show,
while another Eisimmger
entrj, Woodside Mr.
Champagne, brewed up
another championship,
earning the reserve
champion rosette
This was the first show for
Eisiminger’s grand
champion bull, whereas the
reserve is a veteran to the
show road. He was selected
grand champion bull at the
1980 Keystone Livestock
Exposition in Harrisburg.
The 65th Pennsylvania
Farm Show hosted two new
breed shows m the Open
Beef Cattle competition. For
the first time, Simmental
and Chianma females were
led around the floor of the
large arena.
Rolling Ridge Farms,
owned by Harold and Rose
Schneider of Karns City,
Butler County, exhibited the
grand champion Simmental
female. Their entry, Miss
Signal 832 L, is a senior
yearling heifer, calved
March 3,1979, and is sired by
Signal.
Rolling Ridge Farms has
187 head of Simmental
cattle, of which 75 percent
are purebred, according to
manager Charles Rynd. The
Schneiders began raising the
cattle on their 800 acre
operation six years ago,
after phasing out of the
Angus and Hereford
business.
The reserve grand
champion Sunmental female
was a yearling exhibited by
Brenda L. Walter, R 2 Air
ville, York County.
Eight Chiaruna females
competed for championship
honors in the breed’s debut
at Farm Show.
Thirteen-year-old Eugene
Moore of Warriors Mark,
Huntingdon County,
exhibited the grand
champion female. The son of
Donna and Larry Moore,
Eugene has been showing in
the 4-H club and Chianma
Association shows for the
past four years His heifer,
M’s Miss Snowball 966, was
the reserve grand champion
at KILE last fall.

Miss Super, was exhibited by
Nittany Farm, Centre Hall,
Centre County
