junior yearling heifer.

year, and fewer scratches
than we’ve ever had,” Ace
said Tuesday as competition
in three different breeds
swirled around the edges of
the arena.
“I’d say we’re back to
normal numbers after two
years of smaller shows,”
Ace said, attributing the
smaller shows to difficulties

In youth competition,
Anita S Brommer of RD 2,
Conestoga, Lancaster
County, exhibited the grand
and senior champion Ayr
shire The animal, an aged
cow, is “ Piney Grove Flashy
Agnes." Anita is a member
of the Lancaster County 4-H
Dairy Club.
The reserve grand
champion and reserve senior
champion, a 3-year-old,
“Ann Ayr Fortune Valerie,”
was shown by Heather
Hernley of RD 6, Lebanon,
Lebanon County. She is a
member of the Northern
Lebanon County 4-H Dairy
Club
with housing rather than a '
lack of interest. Those dif
ficulties seemed to have
been solved this year to
everybody’s satisfaction.
Certainly none of the 550
cows and calves in the dairy
bam suffered from a lack of
space or attention.

from the time the Farm
Show doors opened in the
morning until late at night
And in the main arena, Ace
noted that the crowds of
spectators seemed bigger
than usual
