member of the Lancaster
County 4-H Club for 7 years.
Ernie wasn’t the only Frey
to bring championship
honors to Lancaster County.
Cousin Fritz Frey, son of
Fred and June Frey, showed
his Chiamna x Angus steer to
the lightweight champion
honors. And Bonnie Frey,
daughter of Adolf and Gloria
Frey, had tlie middleweight
champion ste'er. All three
steers were bred by Fred
Frey.
Gerald Hess, another
Lancaster County 4-H’er
showed his crossbred steer
to reserve light heavyweight
champion.

County, reserve lightweight

In the group classes,
Lancaster County tied up
Cousins Bonnie, left, and Fritz Frey took championship honors in the Junior
Beef Steer contest. Bonnie’s steer was the middleweight champion and Fritz’s
steer took the lightweight championship.
Armstrong County’? Blam dowser, exhibited the 65th Pennsylvania Farm
Show Grand Champion Steer in stiff competition Thursday. In his last year of 4-H
competition, the young cattleman said he plans to use the money he receives
from the sale of his heavyweight champ for his education at Penn State. Stan
ding behind the Limousin x Chianma x Angus crossbred is Armstrong County
Extension Agent Joyce Croys.
