It's easier to call an engine "heavy duty” than it is to
build it that way Many carburated "heavy duty” in
dustrial engines simply don’t deserve the title They
consume expensive fuel at an alarming rate, they are
prone to break down or overheat and their life ex
pectancy is measured in hundreds of hours If any engine
in the world qualifies as heavy duty, it’s Deutz Deutz
engines are often chosen to power equipment with unit
price tags over half a million dollars - that’s heavy duty
When it comes to cooling efficiency, the Deutz
precision-engineered axial-flow cooling air blowers
have no equal. This direct approach to cooling (without
collants, additives, cavitation) means our engines need
only about 60% of the air volume liquid-cooled engines
require. Combustion efficiency is greatly improved by
higher head temperatures and engine life ts extended by
cooler oil temperatures
If you think air-cooled engines *re prone to overheat,
talk to Deutz users in the scorching heat of the Imperial
or San Joaquin valleys There, Deutz engines deliver
more than 20,000 hours of trouble-free service before a
major overhaul

There are lots of things that separate Deutz engines
from water-cooled and other air-cooled engines. Things
like blower design, big lube oil coolers, oil-cooled
pistons, special alloy cylinder heads, a research and
development team of more than 1,000 engineers These
are alt important advantages Still we say: If you can find
an engine that uses less fue' than a Deutz - buy it

Processors, retailers
FARM SHOW - For the
first time in its 65-year
history, food processors and
retailers had displays at the
1981 Farm Show in
Harrisburg, according to
State Agriculture Secretary
Penrose Hallowell
Hallowell said, "These
firms represent the more
than 1400 food processors
and 28,000 retail food outlets
in the Commonwealth Our
agriculture-related busine
sses comprise a $2O billion a
year industry which
provides jobs for nearly one
million Pennsylvanians ”
Eleven Pennsylvania
firms are exhibiting their
wares at the Pennsylvania
Food Marketplace in the
lower level of the Large
Arena
Many are providing free
samples of their products,
including bologna, cheese,
cookies, maple products,
milk, peppers and potato
chips Several firms have
products for sale, while one,
Weis Markets, is handing out
coupons redeemable at any
of the firm’s stores
The Agriculture Secretary
noted the theme of the 1981
Farm Show, ‘Pennsylvania
Agriculture
Growing Better," applies to
these food processing,
wholesale and retail firms as
well
‘The We’re Growing
Better’ logo campaign has
been adopted by 50 Penn
sylvania food processors,"
he said, “while 800 farm
markets and 1000 retail food
stores are now using the logo
to identify Pennsylvania
foods ”
Lancaster Farming, Saturday, January 17,1981—D5
make Show debut
Hallowell urged the public
to stop at the Pennsylvania
Food Marketplace while at
the Farm Show.
“The Marketplace will
give you a chance to
discover some of the many
processed foods manufac
tured in Pennsylvania, and
you’ll get a real taste of
Pennsylvania Agriculture,”
he said
Firms participating in the
Pennsylvania Food
Marketplace are Alderfer

One method is to form a

The preferred stock can be
