Kelly McConnell, 16, of Fredericktown, tied up all four championships in the
Merino Open Show. Her fall lamb and fall yearling entries were tagged champion
ran and ewe respectively during the Monday Farm Show competition. Back
home in Washington County, Kelly is the only 4-H’er who shears Merino sheep
the other shearers don’t like to work around the wrinkles because it takes longer
than shearing a smooth sheep, according to her mother. Kelly markets her
