I do wish it would snow during the day so that 1 could at least enjoy the sight of the flakes floating down. Then I spoke to some hunters that I spied in our woods but they said they knew nothing about our waterfowl. Some wild ducks and wild geese are shot here on the Conestoga. So this morning after clearing the walks and porches of three inches of fluffy white snow, filling the furnace with expensive coal and making the beds, I sat down to write my diary. Then I picked up a colorful seed catalogue that also contained “everything for the garden.” And 1 would ;iy that that was a f irrect description of the c antents. What first caught my eye was a picture of a snake. Upon closer inspection I realized that this was an inflatable reptile made of vinyl that was used to scare off birds. The bright colors of the hhes, ins, roses and dahlias are almost unbelievable in their beauty and perfection. They entice one to place orders for them im mediately.
