He has just purchased 47 acres of land on which he plans to carry out a farrowing and dairy steer operation While in FFA, John had projects in swine breeding, market hogs, feeder pigs, dairy steers, and farm work experience on a vegetable farm. Besides various projects, he has been a member of the chicken barbecue committee, the Food for Amenca com mittee, and chairman of the banquet committee John has served as assistant president, vice president and was a member of the parliamentary procedure team placing first in state in 1979. In 1979 Galen received the livestock proficiency award, and has served as team vice president and chapter sentinel He received the bronze award in state project record book contest, honorable mention in the state land judging contest, first place in the area parliamentary procedure contest and fourth place in the regional parliamentary procedure contest. Besides fishing, hunting, hiking, model building and FFA, he enjoys football and softball. In the future he hopes to expand his father’s farm. Andrew Wagner ANDREW WAGNER Mifflinburg Area High School Andrew Wagner of Mif flinburg is the son of Paul and Joan Wagner He has been a member of the Mifflinburg FFA Chapter for four years And> has had projects in dairy heifers, rabbits, garden, field corn, wheat and dairy cows In 1978 he was co-chairman of the summer tour committee The West End Fair, FFA Week ai»d the Beaver Fair have all been part of Andy’s FFA work This Keystone Farmer has participated in contests such as tractor driving, state project book, land judging, state agronomy, state dairy judging, state farm management, state parliamentary procedure, forestry and farm mechanics PH 687-9198 Andy has been chapter chaplain, chapter president, state chapter farmer. Star Union County Farmer, SUN Area Vice-president and member of the parliamentary procedure team placing first in state in 1979. Andy has been involved in intramural basketball, and volleyball He enjoys building model trucks and rockets In the future he hopes to expand his dairy herd to 30 cows. He hopes to start a veal calf and feeder cattle operation and buy or rent more land. A boiler house for 50,000 birds is in his plans also York County # * Jeff Kober JEFFKOBER Eastern Junior-Senior High School Jeff Kober, having been a member of the Eastern FFA Chapter for four years, enjoyed his FFA projects so much he wants to continue them the rest of his life - only this tune as his own boss. This Keystone Degree recipient, son of Ruth and Frank Kober of Wnghtsville, hopes to work with bus father in the crop and livestock area until he can own his own farm and raise corn, hay and beef cattle. Besides serving as reporter and sentinel, Jeff participated in small engine contests and record book contests. He helped plan and run exhibits at the York Fair, including corn, eggs, hay, small gram, tobacco and tractor driving. Jeff enjoys hunting and being a member of the stage club. This decision may have been reached through his work experience project or his supervised agricultural occupational experience Any Size program. Or perhaps it was the work he did for his chapter: citrus sales, recreation chairman and banquet committee. But whatever influenced him, his Keystone Degree award is a step toward this goal.
