parliamentary procedure

Sne has received the Star
Valerie Weaver
Greenhand, the Sales and
Service Award, the Silver
and Honorable Mention
Award for Interview Con
test, and the Record keeping
award. She is presently
employed at the Oxford
Agway, where she is a part
time clerk and sales person
Some of Valerie’s other
activities include Volleyball
captain, Softball, and
Church Youth group.
Following graduation
from Oxford Area High
School, Valerie will continue
working at the Oxford
Agway.

Spring FFA Chapter, in
cluding president, vice
piosident and student ad
visor
Among other FFA ac
tivities was active mem
bership on a number of
committees, including dairy
judging, extemporaneous
speaking, parliamentary
procedure, beef production
and diversified livestock. He
attended the FFA National
Convention for the past two
years
Ron has also been active in
many student, community
and church groups. Among
these are Boy Scout Troop
174, Big Spring Ag Advisory
Council, Big Spring Student
Council, First United
Presbyterian Church Youth
Fellowship, and a junior
member of the West Penn
sboro Township Company 46.
His hobbies are softball,
camping, hiking, fishing and
collecting books
After two years at Penn
State, he plans to return
home and help milk cows.

Dan Mains, son of Mr. and
Mrs Francis Mains, RI
Newville, Cumberland
County, has held the post of
vice president of the Big
Spring FFA Chapter.
In addition, he has par
ticipated in swine produc
tion, dairy showing and his
projects included cow, calf
and yearling and hogs. He
has served on the
secretary’s and recreation
committees.
Other activities include
varsity basketball, softball,
4-H, traveling, grange,
church and youth groups
He plans to attend Penn
State University for two
years and then returned to
the family farm.

the FFA dairy, livestock and
meats judging teams and the
parliamentary procedure
team. Other committee
assignments were on the
executive, banquet,
Olympics Night, trip, citrus
fruit, caldendar and sports
groups.
Extracurricular activities
in 4-H include beef, horse
and County Council. Among
her hobbies are horseback
riding, fishing and hunting
She plans to pursue a
career in farming.

Gary is the son of William
and Betty Crain and has
been a member of the
Cumberland Valley FFA
Chapter for four years.
This 197£ Cumberland
County Proficiency Award
winner has served oa the
dairy judging committee,
the citrus fruit committee
and the livestock expo
committee. He also has built
a feed bm, two mineral
feeders and has painted four
tractors, four wagons and
two bm wagons as FFA
projects.
In the County and State
Plowing Contest, Gary won
first place in 1979 and 1980.
