The fed. cattle trade followed an irregular course as demand was adjusted for the upcoming non slaughter holiday. Late trading was generally slow, cautious and selective on rather liberal marketings as buyers sought to keep live prices in line with rapidly changing carcass realizations. Yield grade was again dominant price - determining factor in reflection of the wide price differential between yield grade 3 and 4 carcasses. Suppies were rather liberal for a holiday period with some seller pressure to move market-ready cattle during the current year and also to avoid further excess finish.
