Hethermgton, Conference
Chairman of Berwick.
The conference/exhibit is
an annual affair co
sponsored by the Vegetable
Growers of Pennsylvania,
the State Horticultural
Association, the Penn
sylvania Grape and Wine
Producers and the Penn
sylvania Food Processors
Association in cooperation
with the extension and
research divisions of Penn
State’s College of
Agriculture.
Topics to be discussed
during the three day
program include, vegetable
varieties, tomato production
and marketing, research
and control of speck and
blight, transplanters, land
use, mechanical harvesting,
pest management including
bird and deer control,
herbicides, hydroponics,
lime recommendations,
vegetable production ef
ficiency, post harvest
control, irrigation, fluid
seeding, strawberry
blueberry and other small
fruit production.

vegetable and small fruit on
which research has been
completed and will be
discussed are: tomatoes,
grapes, corn, beans,
peas, muskmellon; cabbage,
strawberries, brambles,
blueberries, eggplants,
pumpkins, winter squash
and celery.
