held their covered dish
Christmas Party Saturday,
December 6 in the
Fellowship Hall of the
Church of God. Twenty-nine
members and friends at
tended.

The following officers
were installed for the new
year president, Sara Myer;
vice president, Muriel
Taylor; recording secretary,
Ruth Weidman
A Christmas gift will be
given to the society's guest
at the Harrisburg State
Hospital and to the older
members who have gone to
retired homes through the
years
Roll call was, “Where will
you spend Christmas day?”
Christine Erb, an ex
change student to Japan,
talked about their customs
and showed pictures of the
country and the things they
make.
The yearbooks were given
to members for plans for the
coming year.

Eighty members,
husbands and friends of
farm women 15 held their
annual Christmas banquet
on Thursday, December 4 at
Rhoads Restaurant,
Quarryville

Societies
The program chairperson,
Nancy Lefever, greeted the
group with a poem she
composed about the
gingerbread man in honor of
president Kathy Wagner.
The gingerbread man was
the theme of the party with a
gingerbread man and copy
of the poem at each place at
the table.
Following the banquet the
Solanco Youth Sing Out
Group of fourteen members
entertained with Christmas
songs.
The retiring president,
Kathy Weaver, commented
on the past two years as
leader.
Secretary Colleen
Shoemaker recognized the
fourteen members who had
perfect attendance
Judy Greenleaf, chair
person of the ways and
means committee reported
$5780.98 had been made by
the committee in 1980.
Jean Russel reported $5O
had been sent for Christmas
to the Lancaster County
Crippled Children Society.
The program chairperson,
Nancy Lefever presented the
Wagners with a gingerbread
house and a bracelet for
Kathryn in appreciation for
the two years as president.
Big sisters were revealed
with gifts for all.
The January meeting will
be at the home of Mrs
Frances Fredd, Quarryville.

Society 29
Sharing Our Blessings was
the program of Lancaster
County Farm Women 29 on
Monday, Decembers.
The society divided into
four small groups and filled
food baskets with groceries
and $25 worth of meat to take
to a recipient family.
The group then met at
Lancaster Farming, Saturday, December 20,1980—€13
Marian Brenneman’s home
for a business meeting.
Spring Rally will be held
May 21 at Dickinson College,
Carlisle.
In-coming president,
Genia Ziegler, gave out
going president, Dons
Shenk, a gift from the group
for all her hard work and
great assistance the past two
years
Berks Co,
Society 12
Berks Co Society 12 met at
the Bemville R 1 home of
Pauline Hartranft.
Before the meeting,
members went to the
Christmas Village for a tour.
The women exchanged
Christmas gifts at the
meeting.
Pauline Hartranft will
take the Christmas cookies
that members made to the
Berks Heim. Rita Stump will
help serve refreshments at
the Berks Heim Annex,
Tuesday, December 16.
Gloria Christman, Glenn
Hix, and Pauline Hartranft
will meet at the home of
Mary Leymeister to plan the
calendar for 1981.
The county hoedown is
April 18 at the Hamburg
Field House. All proceeds
will be used to buy hearing
aids for Berks Heim
The next meeting will be
held January 19 at 7 30 p.m.
at the Boscov North Beauty
Center. The members will
hear a talk by a beautician.

Society 1
York Farm Women held
their Christmas party
December 6 at the Grand
view Golf Club.
Seven past presidents and
the York County president
were in attendance.
Elfreda Herbst read the
Christmas story.
Music was given by
Michelle Rohrbaugh, ac
companied by Lisa AlcLnger
Seven members will at
tend the State Convention of
Farm Women to be held in
Harrisburg, January 12 and
13.
Mrs Esther Kagouovsky
gave a very interesting talk
on her native country of
Ukraine followed by group
singing of Christmas carols.
Members donated $3O to
the Cerebral Palsy Fund.
The next meeting will be
held at the home of Evelyn
Page, January 7
York Co.
Society 12
York Farm Women 12 met
recently at the home of Mrs.
Romame Trout with Miss
Barbara Kilgore, Aimlle,
speaker.
Kilgore is the sixth
generation living on a farm.
She is a 4-H member. She
displayed some trophies she
received as awards.
A memorial contribution
was given to Guinston
United Presbyterian Church
m memory of Mrs Myrtle
Kauffman, a society
member who died in Oc
tober.
The society also held its
annual Christmas party at
noon on Wednesday,
December 17 at Rutter’s
Restaurant, Red Lion
Dauphin
County
Executive
Board
The Executive Board of
Dauphin County met at the
home of Ruth McMullm,
December 6 for its regular
meeting.
Mrs. McCorkie called the
meeting to order and read a
poem entitled “Living.”
Roll call was answered by
what member’s husbands
gave up their first Christ
mas.
Attending were: all of
ficers, five past presidents,
and four guests.
Information regarding 1981
state convention, including
instruction and banquet
tickets was discussed.
Those present were
reminded to bring Good
Grooming Kits for the State
Hospital to board meetmgs.
