Society 5
Lancaster Farm Women 5
met on November 24 at the
home of Mrs. Pauline
Longenecker to pack 30 food
trays for the elderly and
shut-ins. Fifteen members
were present.
A -$5O donation will be
given to a needy family for
Christmas.
Society 5 has eight
members going to the state
convention in January. Mrs.
Margaret Sites and Mrs.
Emma Ruth Peifer are
representing the society as
delegates.
The annual Christmas
party will be on December 27
at the home of Mrs. Sandra
Yocum.

Society 18
Lancaster Farm Women
18 met at the home of Mrs.
Edward Wissler, Landisville
on December 6.
Twenty-six members and 5
guests were present.

the State Convention.
The Christmas project was

Berks Farm Women 1 held
their Christmas party at the
Old State Barn, Oley on
Decembers.

Twenty-two members and
their guests enjoyed a baked
ham and chicken dinner
catered by Wegmans of
Douglassville.
A musical program was
provided by Paul P. Lechner
and Betsy Zerbe of Oley.
Secret pals were revealed
and new names were given
out. The Sunshine committee
reported fruit baskets and
plants were delivered to ill
residents.
Past county president,
Ann Yanos, installed the new
officers - president, Pauline
Hartman; vice president,
Ruth Walters: secretary,
Elsie Badrow; treasurer,
Pearl Levengood; and
corresponding secretary,
Patsy Moyer.
Program chairwoman,
Fem Yorgey, announced the
next meeting will be
January 4 at the home of
Elsie Badrow, Rl,
Douglassville. Grandma’s
remedies will be brought to
the meeting by society
members

Society 6
Berks Farm Women 6 held
their annual Christmas
party on Friday, December 5
at the Village Diner in
Douglassville.
Dinner music was
provided by Paul Lechner
and Betsy Zerbe. The
Chirping Senior Citizens of
Birdsboro entertained the
members and their
husbands and guests.
Gifts were exchanged and
secret pals for 1980 were
revealed
The next meeting will be
held at the residence of Mrs
Paul Youse, Oley R 2 on
Tuesday, January 20
Cumberland Co,
Society 10
The November meeting of
Cumberland Farm Women
10 was held recently at the
home of Mrs Janet Mentzer,
Newville R 2
Twelve members were
present and answered roll
call by giving a Bible verse
containing the word thanks
The program was a talk on
Thanksgiving given by Mrs
John Lewis
Mrs Gertrude Staver had
charge of the business She
reported the State Con
vention will be held in
Harrisburg on January 12
and 13,1981
The December meeting
will be held December 12 at
the home of Mrs. Abbie

Farm Women
Executive
Board
The Executive Board of
the Society of Farm Women
of Lancaster County met
Tuesday, December 2 at
IronviUe United Methodist
Church, Columbia.
The roll call was answered
by the president introducing
the new society presidents
that will take office this
coming year.
The State Farm Women
Convention, January 12 and
13 was discussed. It is to be
held at the Forum Building,
Harrisburg.
The day will begin with a
business meeting at 10 a.m.,
followed by an afternoon
program with Middletown
High School Band. Guest
speaker for the afternoon
will be Dr. Richard Canfield,
Manheim.
The Monday evening
banquet, 5:30 p.m., will be at
the Penn Hams Motor Inn,
Harrisburg. Guest speaker
will be Dr. J. Calvin Wenger,
Lancaster.
Tuesday evening’s
meeting will be held in the
Farm Show Building in
Room E for more reports
and election of three of
ficiers.
A bus will be leaving both
days from three different
places along the way to the
State Convention.
The next meeting of the
Executive Board will be held
February 3
