Nutrition is suggesting that
foods selected from the
bread and cereal group
should be either whole grain
or enriched products. Whole
grain cereals contain
thiamin, riboflavin and
niacin which are important
for healthy skin, normal
digestion and important to
the nervous system. They
also contain iron and other

commodity recipe follows
RECIPE: SWEET POTATO
BREAD & ROLLS
3 '4 cup scalded milk
l 4 cup butter
l 4 cup light brown sugar
“a teaspoon salt
3,
'/4 cup mashed cooked sweet
potatoes
1 package active dry yeast
cup luke warm water
3 to cups sifted all
purpose flour
Combine first five
ingredients in a large bowl.
Let stand until lukewarm
Sprinkle or crumble yeast
into luke warm water. Stir
until dissolved. Add to
potato mixture. Mi:» in
enough flour to make a soft
dough. Knead for five
minutes, add flour as
necessary to keep dough
from sticking - but not dry.
Form into ball and put in a
greased warm bowl, turn
over. Cover with a light cloth
and let rise m a warm place
until doubled m bulk. Punch
down and let rise again for 15
minutes

pickup as transportation,
problem solver and friend.
Behind its trusty steering
wheel he tools across the
cattle range - or the back
pasture - searching for stray
calves, corralling
maurading heifers and
hammering sagging fences
back into place.
With its four-wheel drive,
Divide dough into portions
for desired buns or into
loaves. Let stand until
doubled m bulk. Bake m
preheated oven at 400
degrees F. for about 15-20
minutes or until golden
brown. If loaves are made,
preheat oven at 350 degrees
F. for 25-30 minutes.
