committee that provides

Home and Garden” aired on
KYW/TV m Philadelphia
every weekday morning
Each year county staff from
southeastern Pennsylvania,
New Jersey and Delaware
are involved in the 250 nme
minute programs. In ad
dition to her behind the
scenes duties, Mrs. Hastmgs
often appears on camera.
“Farm, Home and Gar
den,” now in its 28th year, is
the longest continually
running TV show in the
Umted States. It has a “SO
share” rating, the highest of
Kay Hastings receives the Ruby Award from
Joseph Beard, Crawford County. Hastings hosts a
daily television show in Philadelphia.

enables her to advance to the
state competition held at
Penn State in the spring.

In Bucks County she has
initiated innovative
programs to meet the needs
of working women as well as

the skills and the business
acumen to work out their
own homes. She also con
ducts clothing programs and
produces a monthly
newsletter for homemakers.
Mrs. Hastings is active in
both the national and the
Pennsylvania Associations
of Extension Home
Economists and currently
serves as president of the
Pennsylvania group.
She is married to Robert J.
Hastings, a Doylestown
attorney.
