Berks 4-H beef
club
annual
KUTZTOWN - Berks
County 4-H’ers and their
parents gathered at the
Kutztown Grange last
Saturday to honor their own
during the annual Baby Beef
Club Banquet.
Following a delicious 4-H
Baby Beef dinner catered by
the Grange and the in
troduction of guests and 4rH
club leaders by club
president Liane Haas, and
county agent Clyde Myers,
the large group was en
tertained by a program
entitled “Downhome En
joyment” presented by
members and parents.
However the highlight of
the evening, as far as the 4-H
members were concerned,
was the presentation of
awards. Receiving the
trophy for Grand Champion
Steer was first time
champion winner - Carol
Strause of Hamburg.
Darlene Dietrich, also of
Hamburg, was presented the
Reserve Grand Champion
trophy for the performance
of her steer at the County
Round-Up and sale held
earlier in the season.
Darlene also received
awards for Senior showman
and Senior Blueform, while
Carol received the Senior
Fitter award and also the
Senior Project Book award.
