Meetings for New Castle and Kent county farmers will be held at the Clayton Fire Hall on Tuesday, December 2 and the Felton Fire Hall on Friday, December 5, from9;3oa.m.to3p.m The program will be the same at both meetings Topics covered will include how to determine custom rates; full season solid seeded no-till soybeans and other soybean cultural pra ctices, black cutworms - their life cycle and control, efficient corn fertilizer programs; use of cover crops as a nitrogen source; the nuts and bolts of no-till; and a review of last sum mer’s corn irrigation program. There will be a pay-as-you go soup and salad lunch served by the ladies’ auxiliary of the fire hall at each meeting. The meeting for Sussex county farmers will be held Tuesday December 16 at the University of Delaware’s Georgetown Substation The program will include talks on; producing small gram; evaluation of soybean varieties; the 1981 pest outlook; energy in agriculture; efficient fer- LEIDY’S PORK PRODUCTS to hold county tilizer practices; and how to control the “tough” weeds.
