    NEBA honors technicians for outstanding service

Rome, Bradford County,
was feted last Wednesday,
for 30 years of service as a
technician for NEBA
(Northeastern Breeders
Association)
Nearly 200 people, the
largest crowd in the history
of the Eastern Bradford
Local Annual Dinner
meetings, were presented to
honor Abell at the North
Orwell Community Hall.

from western Bradford
County Many of these men
told good-natured stories

NEBA from Chester Hale, a past director of Sire
Power, Inc.
about their relationship over
the years with Abell, and the
crowd responded with much
laughter
According to Bob Paar,
district manager for NEBA-
Sire Power, Abell has driven
51,000 miles in 30 years -
equivalent to eight round
trips to California, or two
rounds trips to the moon.
Inscribed to the plaque given
to Abell were the words. In
appreciation for 30 years of
Service - 71,492 first services
through September 30,1980
Abell responded with a
thank you for the plaque and
remarked that he had never
ridden on a snowmobile to
get to his customers, but had
ridden on bulldozers and in
manure spreaders. He had
heard that manure would
make anything grow, he
laughed, but he had not
gamed an inch in 30 years

William Brown, chairman
of the Advisory Committee,
was moderator for the

County Dairy Princess Both
spoke briefly.
Also recognized were the
technicians from Eastern
Bradford: Everett Cook,
unit manager, Larry
Swenson, Carl Remington,
and Walter Abell.
According to Jim Howard,
Sire Power director from
Bradford County, the new
manager at Sire Power,
DeWayne Lutz, has assumed
his duties. The Board is
looking into a building
program to replace or repair

Daryl Beiler, 19, of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, is
congratulated by Mr. C. Jan Westmoreland,
Director of Public Affairs, Agricultural Division,
Pfizer, Inc., at the National FFA Convention in
Kansas City, Missouri (November 11-14). Daryl vyas
a National Finalist in the FFA Swine Production
Proficiency Award program sponsored by Pfizer,
Inc., New York, New York, as a special project of the
National FFA Foundation, Inc. Daryl is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Elam W. Beiler.
