Kettering and Sons local Goodyear Tire Service Center. Honorable mention was received by the Lebanon Conservation District in 1977. Twenty-Two districts were entered in the com petition for this program year. This awards program in its 33rd year seeks to recognize Conservation Districts that have developed and carried out a broad program of con servation activities These activities include assistance in storm water management, erosion and sediment control, forestry, wildlife, energy con servation and environmental education. This assistance was provided to municipal and county government officials, school teachers, consultants, developers and many citizens of our county. A combat veteran of three wars (World War 11, Korea and Vietnam), West moreland is one of the U.S. Army’s most decorated soldiers, with 19 U.S. military decorations, in cluding four Distinguished Service Medals, three campaign ribbons with 17 battle stars, eight service medals and seven combat and special skill badges. He also has received 29 awards from 16 foreign countries. A native of South Carolina, General Westmoreland* graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY, where he returned many years later as superintendent in one of his many assigned tours of duty. to participate in any ASCS program Several general provisions relate to ASC voter eligibility A wife who operates a farm with her husband can vote if her name is on the deed of conveyance Any person under 18 years of age can vote if he or she runs a farm, and a legal guardian who runs a farm tor a child can vote for the child No person can be denied the right to vote because of race, sex, color, religion, or national origin A person may cast a ballot in any county in which he or she is an eligible ASC voter, but he or she cannot vote in more than one community in the county If an eligible votei has separate farm interests in more than one community in the same county, special care will be taken to see that only one ballot is issued to that votei
