Omaha Cattle Thursday, Novembers Report supplied by USDA Slaughter Steers predominantly 3 were mostly steady for the week, while consignments with a noticeable percentage 4 closed weak to .50 lower. Heifers were steady to firm, instances .25 higher. Cows were 1.00-1.50 lower, and bulls 1 00-2.00 lower. Four Day Receipts this week 12,500; Last week 11,800; Year ago 11,700. Selectivity was the keynote of a cautious and deliberate steer trade as yield grade was frequently the major pnce-determining factor; this was a reflection of the 16.0018.00 price dif ferential between yield grade 3 carcasses and yield grade 4, which is among the greatest of record. A somewhat reduced supply of Heifers met with good demand. The overall finish of the Steer and Heifer supply was quite attractive with a liberal percentage Choice, although many consignments were Mixed 3- 4 yield grades.
