Doctors say rural areas UNIVERSITY PARK - f income op portunities tend to keep physicians from setting up practice in rural areas, according to national and regional studies carried out at Penn State. In recent years, the most urbanized areas of the nation have had about five times as many physicians per person as the most rural areas. The findings were reported recently by Sam M.
