The filly was purchased by Lon Frocione of Syracuse, New York. Five other consignments at the Harrisburg sale brought $200,000 or more. Hempt Farms, Mechamcsburg, sold the second high-pnced horse, Keystone Pamela. She is by Speedy Rodney out of Peridot. Selling to Gida- Finder Enterprises, Yardley for $250,000, the Hempt Farms filly is a full sister to the World Champion and 1977 Harness Horse of the Year, Green Speed A Meadow Skipper colt sold for $220,000. Southside, brother to the multiple Stakes Winner, Set the Style, sold to Lloyd Arnold of Charles City, lowa. The colt was consigned by Stoney Hill Farms, Lynnfield, Massachusetts. The Race Tune daughter is the first foal for Mistral Sam, an Albatross mare. She was purchased by a New Jersey farm, Apt-To-Acres. During the four-day sale, 34 yearlings sold for over $lOO,OOO, with three Aged horses topping the mark, too This number is more than double last year’s $lOO,OOO horses when nineteen yearlings wore that grand price tag Altogether, 723 head of Standardbreds were sold this week for $20,980,900, averagmg $29,019. Out of that total, there were 483 yearlings that brought $16,700,800, averaging $34,577. Hempt Farm consigned 64 head, bringing $1,559,900 for an average of $24,373 In their biggest stock sale ever, York County’s Hanover Shoe Farm Inc sold a total of 314 head between the previous Sep tember yearling sale and this week’s Harrisburg sale Their horses earned a total of $10,288,200 At the September sale, 110 head were sold for $4,459,000, averaging $40,536.
