GUTHRIESVILLE -
Over 230 4-H’ers, family,
friends and guests attended
the Second Annual 4-H
Achievement Banquet
Thursday, at the
Guthriesville Fireball in
Guthnesville.
Over 100 trophies, ribbons
and certificates were
presented to deserving 4-
H’ers in various fields of
work. Denise Bertrand,
appraisal analyst for the
Southeast Farm Credit
Service, West Chester,
presented the Chester
County Junior Livestock
Judging Team who placed
first in the state this year,
with trophies for their ac
complishments. Members of
the team included Don
Cairns, Sadsburyville, Ernie
Barrett and Steve Gontarz,
Howard Mark, West Grove, and Allen March,
Glenmoore, member of the Chester County State
Winning 4-H Dairy Bowl Team, receive silver
plates from the Dairy Premium Pool. Missing from
photo are Alice and Lois Mark.
Sarah Nothstine, Northern Chester County 4-H
Horse Club; and Jena Wyatt, Southern Chester
County Community Club were the county's “I Dare
Cochranville, and Bill
MacCauley, Atglen.
The Dairy Bowl Team,
which also placed first in the
state was presented trophies
donated by the Dairy
Premium Pool.
Members of this team
included Lois, Alice and
Howard Mark of West Grove
and Allen March of Glenn
moore. On November 7,8,
and 9 the team will travel to
Louisville, Kentucky for the
Eastern Regional Contest.
Doug Lawne, County and
State Tractor Driver Winner
was presented a trophy by
the Independent Buyers
Association of Hockessin,
Delaware. Doug placed 14th
m the Eastern National
Tractor Driving Contest in
Virginia.
